In reply to Comparing Remeron at 7.5, 15 and 30mg (question), posted by saturn on January 29, 2007, at 12:40:35
Good question. Since mileage varies so much, it is hard to give a universal answer. I can share my experience though.
7.5mg and 15mg felt similar. 15mg maybe more sedating.
7.5mg brought immediate calm. It also increased the loudness of my tinnitus. After 3 days I was feeling some nervousness that hadn't been there before, or actually a different kind of nervousness than I had. I could tell from these things that I was getting too much noradrenalin action even at just 7.5mg. I tried 3.125mg a few times and did not get the increased tinnitus, but did get the sedation, so I think that dose is below the adrenergic part.
Some people claim the higher doses are less sedating. Other people say the higher doses were like be shot with an elephant dart. Everyone reacts different. For me the higher doses just left me too foggy the next day.
