:) That's an amusing story -- well except the pounds effect. The placebo effect causing Remeron placebo side effects ?? :) The pounds are probably just from feeling better -- some people eat more when they feel worse, some better.
They do say in psychiatry that the placebo effect can be 33% of the time for medications. (That's why double blind studies are done and case reports are fascinating but inconclusive since they didn't involve double blind studies.)
