first, congrats on your second.
and don't feel alone. i know there are many others out there.

i'm afraid i can't offer much advice. i'm due with my first in a few weeks, and am bipolarII, but was LUCKY and able to go off all my meds with only minor set backs.
i've been quite lucky with almost no depression, and had only a few times of hypomania (no sleep for couple nights) but it didn't last that long so i was able to 'get through it'.

but i wanted to let you know that my doctors told me several things, one: that though many medications Can be harmful to baby there are many out there that are low risk. so you do have options. ALSO, that even though there may be a risk, there is an even HIGHER danger risk to both baby AND you if you go off your meds and relapse either to suicidal depression or mania where you would injure yourself or baby. (my OB was really big on this...she kept telling me that babies are surprisingly resilient.)

so anyway. my point is you need to put you first. You need to make sure You are protected. i was on about 4 or 5 meds and the only ones my docs said absolutely NOT too were the xanax and ritalin, these i guess are proven to cause abnormalities in babies. but the zoloft was ok and the olanzipine was even ok'd if i needed it. however my pdoc said that if i wanted to i could just use either the olanzipine or haliperdol on an as needed basis. Haliperdol i was not on but he said it was studied to be safe. and using it on an as needed basis was an option for me.

i wish you ALL the best.
b2c.

> I'm preggo with my second, I'm Bipolar.. they tried taking me off the meds (weaning) for the pregnancy, but last week I started up with a mania... so they put me back on Lamictal (slowly) and they have me on Seroquel at night to get me to sleep (I didn't sleep for 3 weeks, which is what I think triggered the mania)... I know the risks involved, as does my doctor. What I am looking for is if there are any other women here that have gone through pregnancies on medication... I feel very lonely
