I would like to try EMSAM but it's hard to get my doc to prescribe "newer" meds. She's cautious in that regard. I see her Monday and I'll bring it up as an option :)

You might try reminding her that EMSAM is not actually a 'new' med (selegiline discovered in the 60s). It's been an established treatment for Parkinson's and, to a lesser extent Alzheimer's and depression for decades (since the late 70s for Parkinson's, I believe). EMSAM mainly just allows us to use an old type of drug, the tried-and-true MAOIs, while avoiding most of the tyramine risk and giving higher blood-levels of the original drug. Maybe your doc would be less averse to such a thing? It really is an old drug--discovered in 1964, I think.
