As I mentioned in a thread above, I have just finished a few months of Cymbalta, with adverse results. As regulars here may recall, I have a long history of of pharmaceutical treatment for bipolar II and OCD, with middling to poor results over more than 10 years.
My psychiatrist has now prescribed Symbyax. I did the fluoxetine route many years ago, with limited beneficial results that dissipated after a short period of time. I haven't tried olanzapine (Zyprexa) before.
Right now, I'm giving myself a break of a few days to recover from a rather bad experience on Cymbalta, though I understand that it's not medically necessary to do so before starting Symbyax. While I'm waiting, I was hoping that some kind-hearted folks here who have had experience with the med could give me some thoughts on (1) what they experienced in terms of significant side effects, and (2) what, if anything, they were able to do to combat those side effects.
There are very few meds left that I haven't experienced at supposedly therapeutic levels, and under the care of my latest doctor I have made every effort to stick with the prescribed meds through even serious side effects. I do not want to leave unturned stones, and any advice you can give me would be much appreciated.
