Cortisol Anxiety-Can someone explain?

Posted by Tom Twilight on November 28, 2006, at 16:09:24

I've often wondered if my Cortisol levels are to high?
Logically I would have thought that high cortisol levels would cause anxiety.

It appears however that the relationship between Cortisol and Anxiety is not so straight forward as I thought.
Post Traumatic Stress disorder is associated with low Cortisol levels, although I'm not quite sure why!

So the bottom line is:
Firstly were can I go in the UK to get my Cortisol levels tested?
Assuming my Cortisol levels are to high, what can be done about it.

I know Remeron lowers Cortisol, and some supplements and herbs can also be effective.....
