Geodon is good in schizophrenia/schizoaffective b/c it seems to improve negative symptoms (or at least not make them worse, as haldol and other can), and it has built-in reuptake inhibition/AD action, so thats a plus for a lot of people in that category.
Unfortunately, it seems that in bipolar there can be ill effects (bipolars are more sensitive to drug side effects anyway) including (hypo)mania.
Maybe you should try another atypical, or perhaps an anti-convulsant.
