In reply to Sweating caused by Nardil, anything to prevent it?, posted by Enigma on November 2, 2006, at 11:23:41
I wish I had an answer for you, because I have the same problem. Mine might not be quite so severe as yours, but it's enough to really make me miserable. And besides being uncomfortable, it's really embarrassing. Plus, there are times I simply have to have cool air on me, and if anyone else is around, it causes temperature "wars".
You know, none of the docs I've ever mentioned this to ever seemed to take it seriously. Or maybe they just don't have anything to offer, so they just kind of ignore it. I don't know. I see my new pdoc again in about a month, and I'll make a point of asking about it again and asking for something for relief. I'll pass along anything I learn.
As far as sweating and cold...I've a bit of luck with garments made for sports or active lifestyles that purport to "wick away" the sweat. I can't think of the name of the fiber at the moment, but it does decrease that wet feeling against the skin and works well as an inner layer. As long as you can dry off and change quickly (somewhere warm) when you get inside, it might help a bit.
Take care,
gg
