Philippa, sorry I am slow. I noticed this thread after despite this being more recent, and posted on the other instead.
I am sorry you are hurting. Please take into account that most people on this board do not agree with the critical remarks that were made.
To echo what other people have said, it is so commendable and such a valuable trait on this forum to respond so graciously when you are hurt.
