I think that if you were taking a small dose of seroquel to help you sleep better, you probably would have known withing 30 minutes or so whether it was going to knock you out. Certainly a few nights experience will tell you whether the drug is strong enough to help you fall asleep and stay asleep.
My problem was waking up the next morning! Fatigue so profound it was almost painful, I don't know how to describe, but it was misery for the first hour I was "awake" barely conscious, waiting for my provigil and coffee to sink in.
