hi everyone, i am being careful not to treat this board as a substitute for medical help, but i generally feel like i'm being denied (maybe too strong a word, i mean more as in he lacks the experience of actually taking the stuff, y'know) certain information when dealing with my doctor. i've been on moclobemide for 3 and a half weeks now for GAD, 150mg a day. it's felt like a nice holiday (effexor & other ssri's had me coma'd), getting me at a nice level of tranquility where i can still function at the same time. yet i've been getting very tired during the afternoons. and another problem is that i'm a writer by profession, and have found it much harder to produce stuff on the drug (kinda blocks my ability to think abstractly). it was possible to set aside projects for three weeks while i tried the drug out but now it's getting difficult. to prove that i wasn't just being paranoid, i went off it for two days and my magic spark came back in full throttle, and comparing writing done off the drug to writing done on the drug produces huge discrepancies in quality. what i'm wondering is when this miracle activating effect is supposed to take place? i started taking it at night for the last three days ,and even bumped up to 300mg but still no change. my doctor says just to keep it up, but i'm tired of that, it's like the sex debate with the ssri's only the stakes are way higher - i don't wanna give up the thing i love most. i tried speaking to a chemist about the tiredness thing but they said just speak to your doctor, making it this vicious cycle, tho one did say that if the tiredness hasn't gone away after three weeks, it probably won't. any recommendations of things i can do, maybe different time i could try taking it? should i give the 300mg at night more of a chance than three days to start taking effect, or would the dose difference not have a huge effect? or even would be comforting to know whether anyone else has experienced anything similar w/r/t creative levels on these things?
