Yes.
I've been taking this stuff for about 6 weeks now. I've been at 600mg for 5 days or so. I feel nothing.
However...
At about the 2 week mark, and at a dosage of 225mg, I experienced a brief antidepressant effect. I take this as an indicator that Lyrica may be effective for others, as this is my historic pattern of response to drugs with antidepressant properties.
Once you get used to Lyrica, there are really no side effects. The only thing at this point that is a little problematic is constipation and choppy sleep. Some of the early side effects were:
- feelings of sedation or intoxication
- cognitive blunting/impaiment
- word-finding impaiments
- reduced libido
- constipation
- paresthesia
- blurred vision
- somnolence
Lyrica is approved for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) in Europe. My feeling is that if you are willing to be a pioneer of sorts, it is worth a try. It is probably safe, being related to Neurontin, which has been around for over 10 years with a good safety record. It has minimal side effects and is easy on the liver. It may not work, but it won't hurt to try.
