Lamictal, Melanin and Eye

Posted by tensor on September 26, 2006, at 7:43:20

When i read about Lamictal there's always a recommendation for routine ophtalmologic screening beacause of Lamictals porential to bind with melanin-containing ocular issue.
What does this mean, is there a risk for eye damage? What's the worst case scenario?

Thanks,
Mattias
