So it isn't even a time release version? It amazes me that insurance companies can get away with considering generic Ritalin as even remotely the same as Concerta.

lilith> Methylphenidate Hcl and Concerta have a 1:1 equivalence, so you would want the same number of miligrams per day (100, or 108). It's all the same substance--all methylphenidate--but Concerta has a much longer, smoother release mechanism. Methylphenidate Hcl is just generic Ritalin, and all gets pushed into the bloodstream in an hour or so.
