> I don't know, I always thought that I'd regain the ability to cry after being off SSRI's for a while, but it just isn't returning. I am more emotional then most people, and if anything I consider it a release and it's frustrating when you feel it but it just can't be let out. The bigger problem is that, I wonder what the drug has changed in me to cause this sudden change.
It might be a lag in chemistry in your brain -- it isn't necessarily permanent. A lot of antidepressants will block this. Psychiatric conditions alone may also do as well.I consider an occasional cry session a let-out, sometimes I force myself with songs I consider sad. But equally reinforcing is a happy let-out, listening to happy songs and attempting to cheer yourself up. I know, that can be more challenging, but maybe it would be more rewarding too. Either has some benefit.
