I've heard a new edition is due out. But that was a couple of years ago now. There was a rumour (?) that there would be a radical overhaul from categorical dx's to a dimensional approach involving rating symptoms for severity.
Does anybody know when the next edition is due out?
Does anybody know whether there is going to be a move from categorical to dimensional?
Does anybody know whether the process etc is documented anywhere (whether there are journal discussions of the topic, for example).
In particular I'm interested in what may or may not be included in the symptom list and whether this really will amount to a 'radical' overhaul if they choose to keep the categories as short hand ways of describing the symptoms...
