My GP does not care much for Ambien and similar drugs and would also be more likely to prescribe trazodone. That also happens to be my own viewpoint, as trazodone is a more conservative and less expensive alternative to things like Ambien and Lunesta. However, if trazodone did not work, I certainly think a prescription for Ambien or Lunesta might be in order, but I would suggest these drugs should be used rather sparingly and not for extended time periods.Todd
