> Have bouts of depression/mania. Been on paxil for a million years (70mg).. but depression got pretty bad so they added Lamictal (gradually up to 150) and lowered Paxil (slowly)to 10mg. At 2weeks on Lamictal I was out of bed and getting outside. I was frustrated and pissed most of the time, but I was up. Now, (8 weeks)I am barely moving, back in bed and pissed off and frustrated. And worse I cry...daily..hard, sobbing, world coming to an end crying. It sux. Is it the meds or am I just getting worse
My doctor has a view that from an antidepressant standpoint, Lamictal helps keep you up. However, this would tend to imply that an antidepressant might be also be required for some people in order to fundamentally lift their mood to begin with. People react very differently to Lamictal--I found it had no real therapeutic value myself and only made my social phobia somatic symptoms worsen. I would suggest adding some kind of antidepressant to the Lamictal of a different class than Paxil, which is an SSRI.Todd
