Personally I would be very carefull drinking while on effexor. I have been taking effexor for the last several years. 1 or 2 drinks are probably not the end of the world, but I wouldn't go to far beyond that.
My anxiety started from heavy drinking and smoking. Years ago I had a 3 week binge of a 26er a day + beer + 40-60 ciggarettes a day. I was having a great time until I thought I was having a heart attack. Turns out I gave myself a panic attack which turned into anxiety disorder, which led me to adivan and eventually effexor.
Keep the drinking to a minimum and get better...
