Hi. I'm new to this forum, but after browsing for quite a while I've found out some useful information. I've been through many depression med forums and seen different things about tianeptine compared to ssri's. Nowhere have I seen anything about whether using both of them in combination. So that's my question. I'm on Paxil and have been for many years. I started on Effexor last January, 75 mg per day, as an adjunct. I know that Paxil and Effexor work entirely differently from tianeptine, but has anyone had any experiences with adding tianeptine to the Paxil and Effexor or know of any research regarding it. I'm impressed with the studies about tianeptine and would like to use it. I've been on Paxil so long that I really don't think it works anymore, but it is such a hard med to get off from, that I just keep on taking it.
So any ideas, folks, would be appreciated.
I also have
access to reboxetine, which I understand is primarly a SNRI. When I
took it before, it seemed to bother my eyesight but I was taking the
recommended dose of 8 mg a day. I'm thinking about cutting back on the
dosage to maybe 4 mg a day and see what that does. I'm thinking more
in terms of increasing the chemicals in my body that will stimulate my
motivation and "get-r-done" attitude, which I understand that
reboxetine would be great for. I know that Effexor also blocks
reuptake of norephedrine but the dose I take is small and maybe
reboxetine would be a plus.Let me say that I'm not much of a believer in OTC health foods and
remedies. I've tried them all and they just don't have an effect on
me. I'd rather stick with the prescription meds that I know cause
changes in my thinking than messing everything up by adding something
like DMAE or DHEA or ALCAR that may interfere with the actions of the
prescript meds.So this is another question for everyone to ponder and think about.
Most of you are certainly more experienced and knowledgable about these
subjects than I am.Terry
