Lamictal is good for anxiety like many anticonvulsant / mood stabilizer. Note that it has also a mild antidepressant effect. Some people are very sensitive to this antidepressant effect.

Yes, Lamictal has some cognitive side effects. It is not well documented, but is with no doubt a reality. DIFFICULTIES FINDING WORDS and completing a sentence at once are also a reality.
Note that in some people, Lamictal can also improve cognitive skills. It could also increase some cognitive skills and decrease some others.

Btw, I'm at 300mg and I have all the described effects.
