I tried RU-486, now known more universally as mifepristone (Mifeprex, Corlux). In addition to blocking progesterone receptors, it also blocks cortisol receptors. The idea is that you take the drug every day (600mg) for a week and then discontinue it. It is thought to reset the HPA system in the body and allows one to remain free of depression for an extended period of time thereafter. It didn't work for me.
