Hey Tom!!
Check out http://www.thyroiduk.org/
Its a great website for thyroid disorders. They seem to come to the same conclusion as we do about UK GPs - they're pretty useless!!!
You should do the Barnes temperature test. I've just been through a patch were I thought it was my thyroid too. The test instructions is on the website. All you need is a mercury thermometer (and it has to be one of those - I bought mine for a couple of quid from the local pharmacy). And you do it yourself - you basically measure your body temperature first thing in the morning. Apparently this is more relaible way of testing thyriod than blood tests, because even if your result is 'normal' it might not be normal for you. They talk about this alot on the website. Its really good.
You could also have adrenal insufficies. I'm not entirely sure what this is, but my nutrinitionst talked about 'supporting my adrenals'. Not too sure of the science behind this, but hey.
Kind regards
Meri
