Dose is important

Posted by Squiggles on June 16, 2006, at 9:08:28

Just in case my dr. happens upon this
message, i'm posting my gratitude for his
wisdom and understanding that the
therapeutic level of a drug requires
the right dose. In this particular case
(not mine) too low means 150mg imipramine,
200mg means therapeutic - who knows maybe
175mg with an adjunct would lower the side
effects. But as for depression, there is
no doubt about it -- you can't lower your
dose to avoid side effects and expect
a therapeutic level at the same time.

I suspected it was the dose but not being
sure, i worried it might have been liver
damage by Serzone, and hence low metabolism by the liver.

Some of these
drugs are so horrible that people will
not take them or lower the dose themselves
to avoid the side effects and just cope
with the depression.

We need better drugs. It seems that whenever
the drug is manufactured it is problematic,
but if it is found in nature, you know what
to expect.
