Its possible -- I dont know how long you have been on the medication and whether its adjusted to your system or not -- thats one place where it can give you more anxiety. Usually when a patient is taking an SSRI antidepressant for an anxiolytic use, something like Klonopin is added temporarily to adjust to it. If you are feeling this long term, it may be too high a dose for you.
My experience since I tend to be stuck in the middle of the anxiety/depression spectrum is that an SSRI is going to treat anxiety or depression, but not both, with the possible exception of the most sedating, Luvox.
