I have Social anxiety disorder and depression. I took paxil for 4 years, it worked very well. I decided I was tired of the sexual side effects so I talked to my doctor about switching meds. I started out by trying Lexapro, also very effective but same side effects. I then tried buspar which I did not find to be effective at all after a month. I am now trying nefazadone (serzone generic). It seems to be a little better at managing my anxiety and depression than buspar but not nearly as well as the SSRIs. Im worried about the possibility of liver damage, since I've learned that serzone was banned in Canada and Europe and pulled from the market in the US. If it is such a problematic drug why is it still available as a generic in the US? Lets say this works for me, am I better off taking this and risking liver damage? Does anyone have Social Anxiety that takes the antianxiety drugs like valium and xanax? Im just wondering if that could be better for me. Any comments welcome, thanks!
