Propranolol can cause depression in some individuals.

Personally I don't "feel" anything from propranolol until about 80mg, used rarely by myself for akathisia, hand tremor, or idiopathic heart rate increase. It definately helps with tremor and it also relaxes a back spasm disorder as well. It however is a moderate serotonin reducer (and is used with cyproheptadine in Serotonin Syndrome cases in the ER) and causes my current disorder to increase a little bit if used even once or twice in a day.
