Hey Guys. Just a quick note. I'm now in day 9 of the 14 days I have to wait from going off Emsam to going back on Prozac. The combination of lithium, klonopin and xanax wasn't helping much at all. Yesterday, I got the doctor to switch me from the klonopin and xanax to just Ativan to go with the lithium, as my sister has always had a good response to Ativan. Well, I'm not quite ready to sound the trumpets and declare it miraculous, yesterday afternoon was definitely better than it has been. This morning so far seems a bit better too. Hopefully it will continue to improve. And thanks for the support and prayers of all of you.
Here are my two questions: On Monday, I will be starting back on Prozac at 20 mg. Considering the way I've felt lately, and that 20 mgs. always worked well for me, I'm not going to try to get the doctor to lower the level to begin with. I am wondering first off if anyone has had any experience with prozac in conjunction with ativan. I've taken the prozac with the xanax in the past and it worked, but since the ativan has given me what feels like a mild antidepressant effect along with the anti-anxiety effect, I'm wondering if this might be a good plan to discuss with my doctor.
The other half of the question has to do with the low dose prozac I've been reading here on the boards. I suffer from depression, anxiety, add and ocd. I personally have found that all those things are helped for me at 20 mg. I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with the 5 or 10 mg who also has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and what their results might be. If I could take the 5 mg or even the 10 mg and avoid the harshest of the weight gain and sexual side effects and STILL have the depression, anxiety and OCD in check, it would be a gift from God. Please, does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks....Paul
