> Tough question as most docs send you to a pdoc for combos of meds. Have seen a pdoc? And not to scold you but why did you wait so long ? Usually if you see a pdoc they like to size you up and start a med and have you come back to see how you're doing. And they even GP's usually only give out a 30day supply. So what will you do at grad school when you need a refill. Love Phillipa
I did see a pdoc. I waiting months to get a consult. Then a month to see him. I was turned away with nothing for anxiety, depression, or ADD since I didn't want an SSRI. He wouldn't even comment when I asked for his opinion on the ADD medications. He said I'd have to discuss it with by primary care physician. My purpose was to get his opinion, and scripts. I got neither! He acted bothered by the fact that I was there, and I assure you I'm a very polite person. I did not offend him in any way. He said that people who have chronic anxiety/depression should not take meds, only people with situational problems!
So, now I don't feel that my GP can effectively treat me. At least he hasn't thus far. One time he gave me Wellbutrin with 6 months of refills and never one checkup! He actually never scheduled rechecks! Only was I recently saw my PA did I have frequent appointments. I didn't even know it was supposed to work that way. Anyway, my relationship with the staff is too personal to keep going for anxiety/depression, especially since it's not being controlled. So, I've decided to start over with another GP since I can be seen on short notice. I know a psychiatrist is bttter, but I don't have access at this point.
