Hi Diane

I dont know where you are but pregabalin (Lyrica) is another option. It has recently been licensed in the UK for GAD. If you can get it I would recommend you start at a low dose. I asked my GP for 300mg BD and he gave me 150 BD. I had read the study comparing it to lorazepam and it only being effective at the higher dose (300mg BD) and knowing the action was similar of that of gabapentin I thought it would be mild, but it hit me hard even at that dose, so I would recommend you start low are build up if you are get it.

Best of luck.

James
