Followup: I increased my Effexor 75 mg XR to 150 mg and was constantly sleepy or sleeping. I felt absolutely dragging and told my son that this must be what dying feels like. I had NO initiative whatsoever, even for basic chores. Although I wasn't in pain, my mind was "foggy" and after seeing 2 doctors, determined that the increase effected both my well-being and my blood pressure. Am slowly coming off the medication entirely. I may have had slight side effects in the past, and I want off this. There are too many good antidepressants out there to take one that actually makes me sicker and that doesn't take my depression away. It only gave me MORE to be depressed about, and life is too short!!
