Well, that's just one of many questions I have...
1) My shrink has never heard of Emsam. Mind-numbing, I know. I've known about it for almost 2 years... been waiting for FDA approval, then for it to finally come out.
2) What's the "best" way to educate your doctor about the drug and then get a script from them for it?
2a) I would MUCH rather find a MUCH better doctor than the person I see now, but it's not that simple, as I have disability issues, and not all doctors have the "authority"?? to fill out dis. paperwork, or will even get involved with it.
So, the real 2a) question - anyknow know a GREAT p-doc in the Manchester, NH area who also has the ability, desire, etc, to handle disability issues? My searches have been miss after miss after miss (and that's putting it nicely)What dose should you start at, and is there anything online that helps doctors and/or patients learn about the recommendended starting dosage. I haven't found anything yet.. just miles upon miles of warnings...
I'm desperate to try Emsam. So many other meds, in many different classes, have failed miserably to treat my severe depression. Nardil was the only one that helped, but the side-effects became infuriatingly intolerable, and non-combatitive, so I had to quit. Parnate was worse for me. 2 drugs, Celexa and Cymbalta gave me suicidal reactions. The list goes on and on.
Anyway, please help if you can.
