Effexor and anxiety

hi there. been on effexor xr for 1 1/2 weeks. waiting to feel some effect, anyone know about how long it takes on average? feeling anxious/snappy like i'm not on anything. just let one of my boys pee on the toilet seat again and i may go over the edge...it's stupid stuff like that that is getting to me. i am hoping that maybe this drug just takes a little longer to get into your system?????????
