Sorry guys! I posted below regarding my parnate change and then scrolled up and found this thread. I appreciate you checking in!
In a nutshell, I just couldn't tolerate the side effects in light of the minimal benefit I was noticing. I was really pushing for it (and pushing the dose), but the major rush in the late morning after that dose, followed by the crash in the late afternoon/early evening, I found it difficult to muster enough energy to play with my kids, help with things around the house, etc. So I've gone with the daily Klonopin (1mg bid) which has been working great so far. Life is returning below the belt ;) and I'm much more calm though not so sedated as I was when I first started the daily Klonopin last week. I just hope there's no tolerance, which doesn't seem to occur for most.
I'm still all for recommending a parnate trial to those who suffer from depression and/or social anxiety. It's obviously changing lives on this forum and that is wonderful to see. So don't worry, I'll never be a parnate party pooper. :) I'm just excited to see the return in interest among the MAOIs, especially now with EMSAM on the market.
By the way, do you guys think a two week wait period is a pretty good rule of thumb to follow before restarting a full diet? Four seems a little excessive, but I also don't want to cut it short.
Take care! I'll keep lurking and posting!
