Depends on the antibiotic... Biaxin (clarithromycin), and some related antibiotics can cause psychiatric problems. I didn't react very well to it. Of course, if its life threatening, if one can bear through it, the antibiotic is obviously best. But there are choices in less severe instances that your doctor could make.
