I have a hard time imagining how a mood stabilizer would remedy the lability of mood that is produced by the daily fluctuations in the levels of hydrocodone.
Have you ever been evaluated for BPD? Do you have impulse control problems? Anger? BPD is more often seen (or at least diagnosed) in females. It does occur in males, but looks different in presentation. If you are BPD, I would recommend going with Trileptal and Zyprexa.
My memory ain't so good, so I can't remember what things you have tried already. It might be interesting to see how you respond to Lamictal. It might not take you all the way to where you want to go, but it might produce enough of an improvement for you to continue to work while searching for a more effective treatment.
