Hey! Just caught up on the thread quickly after being away from the computer. I had to get out more and challenge myself now that I'm down to 1mg Klonopin. I'm hanging in there, and at that point where I really feel as if the Valium is definitely working as intended. Sorry that I'm feeling no energy towards going back and filling in some questions up above in the thread. Pain has been building up all day - nothing I can do but let it do it's thing. I caught your quote below and want to offer my best advice as this is an issue I struggled with for far too long, especially being a male going through late teens and early 20's.
Eye Contact! It can be really hard for a lot of us because of anxiety, but we all know that it conveys our honesty.
Find the right time to ask the Doc if he/she believes it would be helpful for the both of you if you were to take up some research on meds yourself. (1st visit sometimes is not the best time for this.)
Voice your concerns. You are your best advocate. Doctors can study and work in their practices for a lifetime but they will never know how it feels to be you. Make your symptoms the focus, not the diagnosis/labels.
my best to all,
-Lj
