Oh, Jan -- you know you don't have to believe whether others believe in SSRIs to get relief from your own -- and please continue if it is working. Everyone has a different body and a different dx. let alone other psychological issues. But I will indulge you.

When I had bad OCD (actually after I was hospitalized and better) -- liquid Prozac -- moderate dose, I dont recall.

During college -- I believe it was Paxil at a time, maybe another, its part of a generation away by now, I don't recall exactly. Effexor was definately a disaster, I cannot take something that stimulating, it was like 10 cups of coffee and at that point in my life -- not to mention a temporary Seattlite -- I could take coffee. It led me finally to a midterm on 1 hour of sleep (which I passed!) and starting Ambien.

Reboxetine, was a hope for me but never came out. Cymbalta (below) basically is its replacement

Luvox -- definately helped me with circular thinking about my current hideous disorder which would take paragraphs to explain but it is a somatiform one. Best at 400 mgs. Beyond that some problems developed. Did give me electric shocks if I move my head or something while hiking or doing strenuous things, just like Cymbalta does. Can't win them all.

Cymbalta -- currently in lieu of the Luvox. After months, an epiphany at 80mg and I now take 90mg. The insurance still bitches and I have to private pay one or the other pill because they wont go over 60. It probably helps me from suicidal thoughts not that I ever have had concrete ones considering death as the top phobia on my list. Modest to very good at times for my secondary depression about my illness.

cheers

-- Jay
