Yes, another Nardil question- Nrdl and word recall

Posted by Questionmark on March 4, 2006, at 2:05:09

Man, it has been so long since i've posted here. i miss it so. It's disconcerting to think of all the interesting, educating, and informative posts i have missed these past several months. (And all the questions i could have had been helped with as well). But anyway...
i've been feeling for awhile now that my ability to express myself and articulate well and, find the words i'm looking for, has been really... [SEE?!] well, poor(!). And then i was reading this psychpharm. book in Barnes&Nbl the other day and in the MAOIs section it said that insufficient word recall was a common side effect of MAOIs, and was most likely a result of diminished DA transmission (which i had thought about many times before and wondered if it was the problem but this really concretely convinced me). Oh and i'm sure this is probably a lot more common/worse on Nardil than Parnate-- er at least for me and probably most people. So...
What can i do about this? i';ve hated all DAergics i've tried so far-- they just worsen my mood and -- well i didnt like them. i never tried a moderate or higher dose of one (Mirapex; Requip; bromocriptine) except amantadine (also hated) but i assume that that would just make me feel ever worse than they did.
And i'm concerned with how a cholinergic med would feel and the side effects.
AND i've just had to increase my dose of 45mg to 60mg again since getting a job (although i was very reluctant to).
What do i do?
Thank you.
