Matt,
Were you taking your medication as prescribed by your doctor, or were you taking too much?I've said this before, although you haven't replied to me in the past. Your mother CANNOT take you off of or put you on medications. You are of age. Even though you are on her insurance, YOU have medical PRIVACY. You can see doctors, and follow doctors' orders, including taking medications ALL BY YOURSELF.
You can even contact the insurance company and ask them to send your claims to a different address.
And in the US, with nearly all group insurance policies, as long as you are a full-time student, you can be covered under your parents' insurance, usually up to age 24. If your parents are paying for your college, and they threaten to stop paying if you started taking medication as prescribed by a physician, you can look into financial aid.
You can also check into your college to see if they have an office of disability services. They may be able to help you with ADHD coaching or counseling to help you compensate.
Perhaps I don't understand how you got into this situation. But please know what your legal rights are. And ask your doctor for help with advocating for yourself if you want to take on managing your own healthcare.
Be well,
gg
