That is exactly the effect nortriptyline has.

apparently it's less likely to elevate prolactin levels. It seems to work at lower dosages/plasma levels- which, according to my doctor, means fewer side effects.

I can't compare it directly with desipramine, unfortunately. But it does have less of an effect on prolactin.
