In reply to excessive daytime sleepiness, Amphetamines, posted by River1924 on February 22, 2006, at 18:15:44

I take focalin (for ADHD, not narcolepsy)
The risk with stimulants for me is that I can end up short on sleep, which will still slow me down.
Do you sleep well at night?
Do you exercise regularly?

I find dexedrine affects my sleep more than Ritalin. Exercise helps me a lot.

> Is there a limit to how many stimulants one can take? I have narcolepsy of a sort, excessive daytime sleepiness. I take 400 mg of provigil (spread over the day,) 60 mg of dextroamphetamine (spread over the day,) and 25 mg of desipramine. I still get sleepy and space out and fall asleep easily. My motivation goes up and down. I don't collapse with cataplexy but, apparently my barely perceptible moments of blanking out suggest narcolepsy. Anything else I should try? Thanks, River.
