As a sleep aid, at least in myself, it escalated (became ineffective) enough to the point where it started to enter the antidepressant stage, around 150mg. The average adult dose of 400-600mg is enough to put a healthy male to sleep for the entire day, even with acclimation. That's why the 70's drug was retired for use in depression except for exhaustive drug searches. It would take a lot of daytime coffee....
