Let's see, the XL is eXtended [something with an L] and can be taken once a day. The SR is Sustained Release, and can be taken twice a day. The regular has to be taken several times a day.
Why? Well, it's got to do with the seizure risk. Basically, though, if you avoid having highs and lows on it -- such as by taking XL or SR instead of regular -- you lower the seizure risk.
And Wellbutrin is supposed to be weight neutral, although some people say they've lost weight on it. Me? You know, there are so many things involved with my weight, I can't tell you if any of what I've gained has to do with it. Sometimes I think it does, other times I think it probably doesn't.
And if you smoke, it really does help you quit.
