It might be a good idea to ask your doctor for a referral to someone who is very experienced with depression medications. It is important to have someone with experience and knowledge. They need to know what the best first choices might be, what to do if that doesn't work out, and they also need to be able to educate you about the medication and the process and coach you through it. Kind of hard to do all that if the doctor isn't very familiar with these meds.
