Parnate and Body Dysmorphic Disorder

Posted by tygereyes on January 24, 2006, at 14:30:01

I've been taking Parnate for about four months now and I found (shockingly) that it reduced my delusional-type Body Dysmorphic Disorder. Since there is only one case study in the literature about Parnate and BDD, I was wondering if anyone had heard of this as being an effective treatment? (As far as I thought, it was JUST SSRIs, SSNRIs, and Clomipramine that could treat BDD).

Since I still have some peripheral symptoms, my doctor and I are going to try higher doses (I'm currently taking 70 mgs a day) to see if higher doses are more effecive for this, as with the other medications that are used for BDD.

I'm just wondering if anyone else had heard of this or if it even makes pharmacological sense.
