Hi,
Thanks for the help. My doctor actually made contact with the head of the psychiatry department at the major teaching hospital here and they were able to give me only two suggestions of who to see. One was very expensive and didn't take my insurance and the other was dissapointing enough at our first appointment that I don't think I will go back. I don't think my former pdoc knows any other routes to finding a good doctor here and if he wrote a letter of referral it might be to someone that I had just heard was good, which might be a little weird. Thank for the information from Ivan Goldberg's site. I'll check those out. :-)

> Hi. I'm not familiar with St. Louis, but I just looked at Dr. Ivan Goldberg's website, "Depression Central." He has a link for doctors throughout the US who specialize in treating mood disorders. He lists two doctors in St. Louis:

Even if he doesn't know someone directly, he may be able to help you indirectly. I have found that, without a referral, it can be difficult to get an appointment with the best and brightest doctors in any given specialty. I think you would stand a much better chance of finding the right doctor if your previous doctor would call or write a letter of referral to one of the doctors in St. Louis.
