Can I switch directly over from Klonopin to Valium

Do I really need a slow conversion? Or can i move directly to valium?
I've also heard that you may take valium in one dose, as opposed to other doses of benzos being 2-3 times daily.
I'm looking for the longer half-life, and the easier taper in the end.
