I do not usually experience anxiety except for in certain social situations. It is not the type of constant background anxiety that occurs with GAD. That being said, I guess I can report that at least memantine did not produce any anxiety. I imagine you should know if memantine will help during the second and third weeks of treatment. Memantine has a long half-life, and it takes a while for it to build up in the brain to reach therapeutic levels. I would not look for results during the first week.

Have you discussed using pregabalin with your doctor? It would be an interesting drug to look into. It is anxiolytic, and, if it acts at all like gabapentin, a related drug, it might also reduce paroxsysmal panic events.

Have you tried Risperdal?

I really wish you the best of luck finding an answer. I just wish I had more to give you.
