I found Klonopin to be somewhat depressive even when I took it in tiny doses at night (it's been awhile, can't remember exact amount but it was 1/4 to 1/2 of the smallest pill made). If I took any more than that, I was completely out of it and depressed for a whole day. It's very long acting, that's why.
Xanax, which is much shorter acting, worked better for me, no morning hangover. Now I only take it PRN at night if I have trouble getting to sleep because of anxiety, and I only take .25mg.
If my trouble getting to sleep is because of hypomanic agitation (I'm BP II), I take a little bit (1.25 to 2.5 mg) of zyprexa for a few days at night and it gets me out of it.
With both of these drugs, what I find is that if I need it, I only feel the good effects. If I don't need it, I feel over-sedated.
I'm afraid of taking zyprexa long term because it seems to be a guaranteed road to fat city. However, if I was in bad shape and it was the only thing that worked, I would put my mental health above my vanity!
> I'm just depressed. I don't think the Wellbutrin alone cuts it. I was afraid to take Trazodone at night for sleep, because I thought it would me me fat.
